Grits – a drink that is prepared from dried fruits with the addition of honey and spices (cinnamon, cloves). Very nutritious. They usually serve it to Christmas Eve.
Ingredients: 350 g of a mixture of dried fruits (apples, pears, prunes, dried apricots, cherries, raisins), 100 g of honey, 2 cloves, a little cinnamon, a glass of white dessert wine, 800g of water.
Preparation: dry fruits and rinse well. Pour water into a pan (better – thick -walled) and bring to a boil. Put dried fruits in the following sequence in boiling water: first – pears (cook for 30 minutes), then – apples (still cook 15 minutes). After them, put the prunes (cook for 10 minutes) and last to lay dried apricots, cherries and raisins (and cook for about 5 minutes). Before the end of cooking, add cinnamon, cloves, honey and wine to the pile. By the way, wine is not an obligatory ingredient. And if it is assumed that the children will drink ghosts, you do not need to add wine. Give a drink to brew. Serve gap in glasses with warm or chilled.
Bon appetit!
